At 17, I was the youngest member of my gaming group when we attended our first con. They all got into the parties, and I had to stay behind all night in my little crash space in the closet. Without fail, though, they were each kind enough to come back periodically to the room, open the closet door, and tell me exactly how much fun I was missing! I’m totally still making up for that….Magic closet, indeed! 
Dan’s been involved in convention staffing and management since the first day he set foot on proper con soil in 1994 (Magnum Opus Con 9). He also has an extensive background in hotel management, and he’s served as a hotel liaison for cons on many occasions. But Dan is perhaps best known for being the guy in charge of the Infirmary parties–most recently, Infirmary: DIGit. Other notable hostings include the Box of Bunnies parties, Ziggy’s Birthday Pool Party, and the Fantasm Wake. To date, he’s never lost a Party Battle, and every hotel where he’s hosted has asked the con to come back!
Dan will help us Play On by making sure the hotel and the con are on the same page in the areas where they most frequently aren’t. He’s got a thorough understanding of both sides of the equation: he knows how to run great parties, and he knows how to run great hotels. The two don’t have to be opposed! He’ll also be in charge of Registration, cutting down Pre-Reg wait time by combining badge check-in with hotel room check-in wherever possible. Because someone who plans ahead with their reservation and their membership should not have to wait in two really long lines when they arrive!
For special rooming requests, dietary needs, travel arrangements, or anything else related to the facilities, parties, or registration…hospitality is Dan’s bidness!
